Guide Range, Inc. (“Guide Range,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and website (collectively, the “Service”). Please read this policy carefully. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described herein.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly and information generated through your use of our Service.
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your first name, last initial, email address, and optionally a profile photo. Guides may also provide additional verification information.
Booking Information
We collect trip dates, number of guests, and the type of payment method used. We do not store full card numbers or CVV codes — all payment card data is handled by our payment processor and never touches our servers.
Location Information
We access your device location only when you actively use the “Near Me” feature to find nearby experiences. Location data is used in real time and is not permanently stored or linked to your profile.
Device Information
We collect push notification tokens and device type (iOS/Android) to deliver booking alerts and important notifications. This information is used only for notification delivery.
Usage Data
We collect anonymized data about screens viewed, search queries, and feature interactions to improve the Service. This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify you individually.
Messages
Messages exchanged between travelers and guides through our in-app messaging feature are stored to provide the Service and to resolve disputes. We do not read messages unless required for safety, legal compliance, or dispute resolution.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide, operate, and improve the Guide Range platform
- Process bookings and coordinate payments through our secure payment provider
- Send booking confirmations, reminders, and status updates
- Enable secure messaging between travelers and guides
- Power Scout AI recommendations — your conversations with Scout are not used to train AI models
- Send push notifications with your explicit permission
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unsafe activities
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service
3. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information with advertisers. We share information only as described below.
Between Users
A guide’s full name is shared with a traveler only after a booking is confirmed. Before booking, only first name and last initial are displayed. Traveler and guide profiles are visible to facilitate the booking process.
Service Providers
We work with trusted third-party service providers who assist in operating our platform, including payment processing, email delivery, AI-powered features, and weather data. All service providers are contractually bound to protect your personal information.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose information when required by law, subpoena, court order, or to protect the safety of our users or the public.
4. Data Storage & Security
- Data is stored on Supabase infrastructure hosted on AWS (us-east-1 region)
- All data is encrypted in transit using TLS and encrypted at rest
- Payment card data is handled exclusively by our payment processor and never touches our servers
- Waiver signatures and liability documents are stored securely with access controls
- We conduct regular security reviews and follow industry best practices
No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we use commercially reasonable measures to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Your Rights & Choices
- Access & Edit: Update your profile information at any time in the app under Settings → Profile.
- Delete Your Account: Navigate to Settings → Privacy & Data → Delete Account. Deletion is permanent and removes your personal information within 30 days, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Download Your Data: Request a copy of your data at Settings → Privacy & Data → Download My Data.
- Opt Out of Marketing Emails: Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email. Transactional emails (booking confirmations, receipts) cannot be disabled as they are essential to the Service.
- Push Notifications: Manage notification preferences at Settings → Notification Settings or through your device’s system settings.
6. California Residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:
- Right to Know: You may request information about the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
- Right to Delete: You may request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
- Right to Opt-Out of Sale: We do not sell personal information. No opt-out is necessary.
- Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights.

7. EU and UK Residents (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Union or United Kingdom, the following applies:
- Legal Basis for Processing: We process your data based on contract performance (to provide the Service), legitimate interests (fraud prevention, service improvement), your consent (marketing communications, push notifications), and legal obligations.
- Right to Erasure: You may request deletion of your personal data. See Section 5 above.
- Right to Data Portability: You may request a machine-readable copy of your personal data.
- Right to Restrict Processing: You may request that we limit how we use your data in certain circumstances.
- Right to Object: You may object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- International Transfers: Data may be transferred to and processed in the United States. We use appropriate safeguards including Standard Contractual Clauses where required.

8. Children's Privacy
Guide Range is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete that information promptly. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us at support@guiderange.com.
9. Push Notifications
With your permission, we send push notifications for booking confirmations, guide messages, trip reminders, and important account updates. You can manage notification preferences at any time in the app under Settings → Notification Settings, or through your device’s system settings. Disabling notifications may cause you to miss time-sensitive booking information.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
